Saddle Brook NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announces the supersession by his office of the Saddle Brook Police Department. As announced a short time ago by the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General, Saddle Brook Police Chief Robert Kugler has been charged with offenses related to his conduct in office as Police Chief. This investigation was conducted by the New Jersey State Police, Public Corruption Unit and the Attorney General’s Office of Public Integrity and Accountability.
As a result of these charges, which include Official Misconduct (2nd degree), Conspiracy (2nd degree), and Corruption of Public Resources (3rd degree), Chief Kugler has been suspended from his duties. Chief of Detectives Robert Anzilotti of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office will assume command of the department under the authority of Prosecutor Musella as the chief law enforcement officer of the County of Bergen.
