Saddle Brook NJ, Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin and the Division of Consumer Affairs (“Division”) announced today that international retailer Walmart has agreed to pay $1.64 million to resolve allegations that the chain repeatedly engaged in unlawful unit pricing practices at its 64 retail stores throughout the state. The settlement, which includes a $1.61 million civil penalty, is the largest ever obtained by the Division’s Office of Weights and Measures (“OWM”).

Saddle Brook NJ, an individual sustained a traumatic leg injury during a Thursday evening, 09/28, elevator entrapment at the Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation’s six-story facility located at 300 Market Street, Saddle Brook. According to sources at the scene the victim was riding the elevator with his adult son, having visited a relative at the Market Street facility, when the door opened and his arm and leg got stuck between floors.

Ridgewood NJ Basil Pizzuto, an assistant principal at Ridgewood High School, died on Wednesday November 23rd of an aortic aneurysm just one day shy of his 50th birthday . Incident response protocols were activated immediately following reports of Pizzuto passing out. Pizzuto was an assistant principal at Ridgewood High School, a Saddle Brook Volunteer Fire Fighter and  the leader of St. Philip’s Music Ministry.

Fair Lawn NJ, according to the Fair Lawn Police Department , Monday started out with an accident on Broadway East / FL Parkway. The operator driving this blue BMW struck another vehicle in the intersection. Instead of calling the police to report he was in an accident (yes you’re supposed to do that) he attempted to negotiate with the driver of the other car  and  then paid up with counterfeit U.S. currency.
