Englewood NJ, the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying those responsible for vandalizing a patrol car earlier this month.

The marked vehicle was stationed on Route 4 west near Grand Avenue in Englewood to address concerns about traffic safety in the area. At some point, an unknown individual or group removed the faceplate for the radio and siren from the car. The vandals did not steal the actual radio and siren, and there was no visible damage to the vehicle’s entry points, suggesting that the perpetrators may have used a fleet key to gain access.

“While the items taken were of minimal value, any act of tampering with law enforcement equipment is a serious offense,” Sheriff Anthony Cureton stated. “We are taking this incident very seriously and will pursue all leads to identify those responsible. The safety of our community remains our top priority, and we will continue to deploy resources to ensure that Englewood and all of Bergen County remain safe and secure.”

The Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward. Tips can be provided anonymously via the agency’s CityProtect website or by calling the Bergen County Crime Stoppers tip line at 844-466-6789.
