BERGEN SHERIFF’S OFFICE OFFERS FREE CLASSES FOR BERGEN COUNTY ANIMAL RESPONSE TEAM

HACKENSACK NJ, Sheriff Anthony Cureton announces that the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office will offer a free 10 week program to become a volunteer for the Bergen County Animal Response Team (CART). The CART team is comprised of certified volunteers who respond, rescue, and shelter animals in emergency situations.

The 10 week program starts on September 18 at 7:00pm and will run through December 5. Classes will take place at the Bergen County Law & Public Safety Institute located at 281 Campgaw Road in Mahwah.

The volunteers enrolled in the program will learn about topics including Animal Preparedness, Animal Bite Safety, Animal Rescue & Evacuations, Understand Animal Behaviors, Handling Livestock Safely, and Disaster Sheltering for Companions. The program is open to all lovers of animals who are interested in learning about how to care for them in the event of an emergency or disaster.
