Bergenfield NJ, in the early hours of Monday morning, Bergenfield police were called to investigate a burglary at Alpha Jewelers, located on South Washington Avenue in the borough. According to Capt. William Duran, the department received an activation alert from the store’s burglar alarm at 3:32 a.m.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers found evidence of forced entry through the front door of the business. However, no individuals were found inside the premises at the time of their arrival. It was evident that several display cases within the store had been damaged during the burglary.
While the extent of the stolen items is yet to be determined, Duran stated that authorities are actively working to assess the inventory and ascertain the total value of the missing items. The investigation is ongoing, with the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office Bureau of Criminal Investigation providing assistance to the Bergenfield police.
As of Monday afternoon, the details surrounding the burglary remain under investigation, and law enforcement officials are urging anyone with information to come forward and assist in the case.
