Ridgewood NJ, a BMW X5 SUV veered off Route 17 southbound late Sunday afternoon, May 4, crashing directly into a gas pump at the Exxon On The Run station, located between Race Track Road and Franklin Turnpike.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but the situation was potentially dangerous due to the proximity of fuel.
Ridgewood Fire Department (RFD) personnel responded promptly, taking numerous safety precautions to secure the area while the vehicle was removed by a flatbed tow truck. The Ridgewood Police Department also responded and assisted with traffic and scene control.
The incident drew attention from passing drivers, but thanks to the swift and professional response from Ridgewood Fire Department and Police Department, there was no fire or hazardous spill reported.

Hmmm vehicles can veer off a curve on 17. Reasonable and honest people should be on notice and realize developing the shedler property is a bad idea at best.
This is the worst spot for a field. there would be so many accidents. They need to start taking some accountability and find a solution to this ASAP.
The village of Ridgewood should be working with the state enviornmental agencies to remove all the soil. And bring in natural clean soil from further away plant some variety of tree and let nature take back over.
Let that habitat come back to life for the wildlife and for our neighbors. This has to be about the money cause no one is doing the right thing.
Here is the thing about money, if you had it and they stripped you of it all, what would you still be worth?

Exactly, I’ve seen tractor trailer tires come off and go for a quarter mile before hitting something, look how much debris blows off these trucks and you think how do they make it over the berm on w, saddle river rd.☠️
