Ridgewood NJ, According Super Cellars, with 2,000 years of wine growing history Bordeaux offers great value today. Bordeaux is one of the largest wine growing regions in the world and that size offers a great diversity of wines.

The Ridgewood blog is a huge fan of moderate priced Bordeaux’s.For years we have purchased them with surprising results . Great for the cold weather or with a most red meat dishes .

Super Cellers sent us some fun facts, Bordeaux was one of Thomas Jefferson’s favorite wines!   As the prices of California Cabernet wines, especially Napa and Sonoma County continue to soar, its hard to find a really good value under $20. And there’s virtually nothing under $12.  Not so with Bordeaux, there are some great finds in these price ranges.  Looking for a special high end wine that’s a great buy? Again, we have a Bordeaux for you.   87% of all Bordeaux is red and the majority of those are blends of Cabernet, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petite Verdot. Bordeux reds run the gamut in flavors. If you like dark berries, licorice and spice try one of the offerings from the Haut Medoc.  If red berries, sweet spice and vanilla is right for you, try a St. Emillion. Looking for a complex and elegant wine try one of the communes in the Medoc; Margaux, St. Julian, Pauillac or St. Estephe. Just learning about Bordeaux or you want a more fruit forward wine… try something from the Satellite communes of the Right Bank.   White wine your thing? Bordeaux produces those too and we have them! The greatest dessert wine in the world is from Bordeaux, check out our selection of Sauterens and Barsacs.   Bottom line – we have a Bordeaux to fit EVERY style and EVERY budget.
