Glen Rock NJ, according to Glen Rock Police on Monday August 16th at 2:20 PM, a Glen Rock resident reported being contacted by a collection agency over a delinquent bill from a wireless carrier. Upon inquiry, the resident was informed that the cell phone in question had been shipped to an address in Newark. A review of the account also detected other discrepancies showing that this was, in fact, a fraud.
The following day the resident received a letter from the Haledon Police Department informing them that the Borough of Haledon had a computer breach and that their personal information may have been compromised. Information on complimentary credit monitoring was enclosed which the resident is following up on.
It is unknown if the computer breach is related. The matter has been referred to the detective bureau for review.
Wow, bet Ridgewood is all pi$$ed off.
They couldn’t even manage a computer breach by a foreign organized crime entity.
Just somebody taking a quarter here, a quarter there. But it added up.
