Hackensack NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of ABENA YEBOAH (DOB: 06/06/1949; single; nanny) of 903 Summit Avenue, Bronx, NY on charges of Child Abuse. The arrest is the result of a joint investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti and the Hackensack Police Department under the direction of Officer in Charge Captain Peter Busciglio.

On Wednesday, July 8, 2020, the Hackensack Police Department received information that ABENA YEBOAH physically abused an infant child whom she had been caring for in Hackensack. An investigation by the Hackensack Police Department and the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit revealed that YEBOAH had been hired to care for an infant child in Hackensack. During her time as a nanny for the family, she was observed on a nanny camera physically abusing the child by hitting, kicking, and yanking the child by the arm.

As a result of the investigation, ABENA YEBOAH was arrested in Bronx, New York on a Hackensack Police Department Warrant charging her with one count of Title 9 Child Abuse, in violation of N.J.S.A. 9:6-1, a 4th degree crime. She was taken into custody by the New York City Police Department and is awaiting an extradition hearing.

Prosecutor Musella states that the charge is merely an accusation and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, and he would also like to thank the Hackensack Police Department and the New York City Police Department for their assistance in this investigation.
