Ridgewood NJ, the 2022-2023 school year will mark the 100th anniversary of the Ridgewood High School Band Program! Ever since Dorothy Zimmerman graduated from RHS in 1923 as the first ever senior band member, the band has held an important place at the high school and has brought pride and recognition to the Village of Ridgewood. To properly celebrate this momentous occasion, the RHS Band Program is beginning to plan several events that will take place from July 2022 through June 2023, and we feel strongly that our alumni should be included. On Monday, July 4, 2022, the Band Program is excited to welcome MANY BAND ALUMNI for the first of many events celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the RHS Band Program. Come march with the band in the Ridgewood July 4 Parade or come hang out at our Family BBQ on the front lawn of RHS. Help SPREAD THE WORD to as many band alumni as you are in contact with! The goal is to have 100 Alumni for the 100th Anniversary!
July 4 Event Schedule
• June 28 & 30 | 6-8pm | RHSMB 2022 Students will be rehearsing for the parade at RHS. If you feel like dusting off the instrument/equipment or your marching shoes (actually sneakers are preferred), and would like some extra practice, come on by! (This is NOT required as part of the event)
• Sunday, July 3 | 6-8 PM | T-Shirt and Instrument/Equipment Pick Up at RHS
• Monday, July 4 | 8:45 AM | Meet at the Band Truck at GW Middle School. We’ll organize, rehearse, and get ready to march! During the parade, we will play “Go Get ‘Em Ridgewood” and the “George M Cohan Salute” (literally the same music we’ve been playing for more than thirty years!) Music will be distributed via email.
• Monday, July 4 | 1-3 PM | Family BBQ (everyone’s invited) on the Front Lawn of Ridgewood HS. Catered by Chestnut Deli. Paid for by the RHS Band Parents Association
