Ridgewood NJ, Apricot Lane Boutique has come to Downtown Ridgewood brought to you by local owners Lucille Coyle & Carrie Turelli. This franchise is the only one in New Jersey and what better place for their flagship store than iconic Ridgewood. Don’t let the fact that it is a franchise fool you; all of the merchandise is handpicked by the owners & staff which guarantees to bring you both the hottest trends in our area and, of course, the classics too.
We buy in small quantities and rarely reorder the same merchandise twice. Why is this important you might ask? Because we can almost guarantee you won’t be wearing the same outfit as all of your friends. Even better, it allows us to bring in new merchandise more frequently. So…if you see it, buy it because it may not be there tomorrow!

Ridgewood NJ, a Ridgewood business owner found herself so unsettled by a Pennywise clown plush doll that ended up in her back yard on Saturday that she set it on fire and then slept with a knife under her bed.

Renee Jensen was in her backyard in Harrington Park, N.J., with her boyfriend when she noticed an airborne object heading into her yard.At first, she assumed it was a bird , but when she approached the object , she realized it was a doll of Pennywise the Dancing Clown, from It, the Stephen King iconic horror novel which was made into a miniseries in 1990, adapted for film in 2017 and has a sequel, It: Chapter Two, which is due to hit theaters Sept. 6th. 3 amigos in action Ridgewood NJ

If the (Ridgewood Water) suit was filed for the rate hikes in 2010 -2012, then I believe Paul Aronsohn was on the Council from 2008 joined by Albert and Gwenn In 2012. The three served til May 2016 and appointed the 6th council member ( actually manager) Roberta Sonenfeld. A lot of the blame for the current issues fall directly on their shoulders. Adios to the Three Amigos who left us in bad shape.

Readers Point Out the Obvious About Ridgewood and New Jersey Taxes

Ridgewood_Real_estate_theridgewoodblog

file photo by Boyd Loving

“With the declining tax base, who is going to pay for all of these excessive salaries and benefits (platinum health care, very generous pension & unused sick leave payouts) negotiated in bad faith by the public sector unions ?”

“States with lower state & local taxes make much more sense for businesses to invest given the SALT deduction limits of $10,000 on their employees hurt them in high tax states like NJ.”

“The average residential property tax in Ridgewood is actually now $18,000 as of 2018/19 tax year… just as state & local tax deductions are limited to $10,000. What are the BOE and Village Council doing to help Ridgewood families keep food on their tables and gas in their cars given higher commuter pass costs, tolls, higher parking permit fees, higher Graydon and tennis pass fees, etc? And where are the vaunted schools & Village services those taxes are paying for ? In the tank.”

the fly was wondering if Albert and Gwenn recused themselves from the close door session

the fly was wondering if Albert and Gwenn recused themselves from the close door session

The 3/25/2015 agenda posted on the Village website stated that the Council would discuss the Valley ligation in a closed session. The 64,000.00 dollar question would be ,did the Village Manager ask Mr. Rogers to tell Albert ,who has previously admitted a conflict  and Gwenn who despite overwhelming appearance to the contrary denies a conflict; to recuse themselves because of their previously mentioned conflict of interest with the hospital ? The presumption around town seems to be that they both attended and participated in the closed meeting . A fact which I am sure Mr Rogers vehemently objected to, not wanting anything to undermine that very lawsuit?

Reader Spells out the Differences in the Village Council Candidates

Reader Spells out the Differences in the Village Council Candidates

While the papers have been giving you the impression that all 3 candidates are the same it is an over-simplification.  Knudsen and Sedon have been attending VC and PB meetings for years because they are genuinely interested in the municipal issues and feel they can contribute sound, non-partisan perspectives.

Jim Albano has only started to attend these meetings  since his candidacy.  Why did he suddenly become so interested in our municipality that he wanted to be on the council?  How about attending a meeting first?  How about reading the paper and submitting a Letter to the Editor?  How about standing up at ONE of the 7 years of Valley Hospital meetings to speak out (either for or against)?  How about attending a meeting on the downtown development?  He has been interviewed by all the grassroots organizations in town and all of them found him to be a pleasant person that loves Ridgewood, but was totally unprepared to have a meaningful conversation on the big issues in town including, but not limited to development, budget, services, parking, shared services, schools, etc.
This is all in addition to the fact that he has only  voted twice in a municipal election in over 20 years (doesn’t sound too interested in Ridgewood to me!) and he has failed to submit tax returns on behalf of the RBSA, for which he is President, for at least 6 years and has not informed the RBSA members that their donations have not been tax deductible all that time.  You might hear him tell you where he stands on things, but he has no track-record to prove it.   That’s why I’m voting Sedon and Knudsen.  Hope that helps.
