Ridgewood NJ, the school supply drive on behalf of Social Service Association (SSA) was a huge success this year. The donations were more than generous . The Social Service Association (SSA) would especially like to thank Fr. Ron and OLMC for supporting this important cause.

Because of all of the donation, many children who live in Glen Rock, HoHoKus, Midland Park, Ridgewood, Waldwick and Wyckoff will be able to start the school year with supplies.

“Look for our school supply drive next year. Thanks again!”, Alex and Donovan.

Ridgewood NJ, The Ridgewood Health Department and the New Jersey Department of Health remind you that your need for immunization doesn’t end when you become an adult. Get vaccinated to protect yourself and your loved ones from serious diseases.

August represents New Jersey’s Adult Vaccine Preventable Disease Awareness and Improvement Month, which coincides with the National Immunization Awareness Month (NIAM), a national annual observance to raise awareness about the important role vaccines play in preventing serious, sometimes deadly, diseases.

“When I moved to Ridgewood 25 years ago, water restrictions were imposed rarely, for relatively brief periods due to drought conditions. In recent times, these restrictions are more-or-less a permanent feature. Now we can justify this, as the first commenter has done, by championing conservation and how unnecessary grass is. However, the reality is that potential home buyers want their green lawns and towns that are competing for this real estate market do not have similar restrictions. This may be a minor point in the real estate decision making, but when people start doing their Google research, the Ridgewood negatives (e.g. school rankings, multi-story garage, low-income apartments, and permanent water restrictions), it has an effect.”

ridgewoodwaterlogo-061912-rn-tif

“The continuing inability for Ridgewood Water to not be able to deliver product is amazing and a failure of this town leadership for years. The water that is delivered to our homes rivals many third world countries in quality, hardness, and contaminants. The water is off the charts in hardness and multiple times worse then surrounding town. The infrastructure is not being upgraded in terms of piping, etc except when broken etc. There is just no leadership at all.

If my children were still at home I would be organizing a civil suit to fully identify the risks, inaction, and force solutions. We are the only town with never ending restrictions for a sub par product.

BTW How does anyone think we will supply water to the new apartments . No planning at all.”

Village Council Tables Vote on High Density Housing

I’d like to know which ones of our council members will attend this hearing and speak out against the outrage that is called “affordable housing.” Ridgewood should be out front leading this effort, not wallowing in self-pity and over-development and cowering to the developers seeking to profit from their strangulation of our town
Mayor Hache?
Deputy Mayor Knudsen?
Councilman Sedon?
Councilman Voight?
Councilwoman Walsh?
Let us know what you are doing to stop the over-development, or at least come out and say you support it and wish to see it continue.

Reader says , “it is vital that the council members clearly state their position and how they plan to represent us (on high density housing)”

village Council Elections

“We have only met a small portion of our affordable housing. The massive downtown projects will be mulitiplied several times in order to meet the numbers. That is becuase of the way the council allowed the overbuilding to occur.

Going back to the original comment, i think it is vital that the council members clearly state their position and how they plan to represent us. Didn’t like Aronson, and thought he lied through his teeth, but he did speak openly about how he planned to turn Ridgewood into a city of multi-family homes, littered with parking garages and low end stores. And he had Pucc speaking up right next to him saying how he owed it to the Village to tear it down.

So, where does this current council stand?
