During the months of May and June 2019, Shqipron IDRIZI distributed narcotics, namely LSD, to an undercover Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Detective. IDRIZI was arrested on June 7, 2019 in Fort Lee, NJ.

Fort Lee NJ, Two men were indicted today for operating a heroin mill out of a penthouse apartment unit in luxury, residential high-rise tower in Fort Lee, New Jersey, U.S. Attorney Craig Carpenito announced.
Richard Fernandez, 36, and Carlos Mosquea-Diaz, 36, are charged with conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute one kilogram or more of heroin and fentanyl. Fernandez is also charged with possession of a firearm in relation to a drug trafficking crime.

Fort Lee NJ, Acting Bergen County Prosecutor Dennis Calo announced the arrest of JUNE REINER (DOB: 6/26/1948; single; retired) of 1512 Palisade Avenue, Unit 9M, Fort Lee, NJ, on a charge of Leaving The Scene Of A Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti and the Fort Lee Police Department under the direction of Chief Keith Bendul.
At approximately 4:54 p.m. on Wednesday, December 19, 2018, the Fort Lee Police Department received a report of a pedestrian struck by a hit and run vehicle on Main Street near the intersection with Jones Road. Upon arriving at the scene, officers observed a female victim lying in the roadway with serious injuries consistent with having been struck by a motor vehicle. The 61-year-old victim, later identified as Vera P. Zozulevich, was transported to Hackensack University Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.
An investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Fatal Accident Unit and the Fort Lee Police Department revealed that Zozulevich was attempting to cross Main Street when she was struck by a westbound box truck and then struck again by an eastbound Mercedes-Benz SUV. The box truck remained on the scene, but the Mercedes-Benz, operated by June REINER fled. Witness accounts and surveillance video recovered from the area led investigators to the location of the fleeing vehicle and its driver, June REINER.
As a result of the investigation, June REINER was arrested on December 19, 2018 in Fort Lee and charged with one count of Leaving The Scene Of A Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:11-5.1, a 2nd degree crime. REINER is scheduled for a first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, NJ on Friday, January 4, 2019.
Acting Prosecutor Calo states that the charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, and would also like to thank the Fort Lee Police Department for its assistance in this investigation.

Fort Lee NJ, Acting Prosecutor Dennis Calo announces the following information:
The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Fatal Accident Investigation Unit and the Fort Lee Police Department are investigating a fatal hit-and-run that occurred just before 5:00 p.m. on December 19, 2018, on Main Street in the area of Jones Road in Fort Lee, NJ.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the 61-year-old female victim was struck by a westbound box truck, then struck again by an eastbound Mercedes-Benz SUV. The box truck remained on the scene, but the Mercedes-Benz fled the area. However, the BCPO’s Fatal Accident Investigation Unit and the Fort Lee Police Department have since located the driver of the Mercedes-Benz SUV, and the driver is in custody.
The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released at a later time.

Fort Lee NJ, An insurance broker with an office in Fort Lee, New Jersey, today admitted defrauding Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield, U.S. Attorney Craig Carpenito announced.
Lawrence Ackerman, 54, a resident of Old Tappan, New Jersey, pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Anne E. Thompson in Trenton federal court to a superseding information charging him with one count of health care fraud.
According to documents filed in this case and statements made in court:
Ackerman was the chief operating officer of Atlantic Business Associates (ABA) and Atlantic Medical Associates (AMA), two “shell” companies through which he marketed health insurance nationally to people who were not his employees and therefore ineligible for health coverage. During the month of January 2011, he delivered $481,500 in health care benefits to ineligible participants.
The count of health care fraud to which Ackerman pleaded guilty is punishable by a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and a fine of $250,000. Ackerman was originally charged in a two-count indictment with conspiracy to defraud Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of $5.6 million and the welfare fund of Local 2326 of $1 million in fraudulent health care claims. Under terms of the plea agreement, Ackerman will be responsible for making full restitution to Horizon and to the union’s benefit plan for their losses. Sentencing is scheduled for March 20, 2019.
U.S. Attorney Carpenito credited special agents of the Department of Labor, Office of the Inspector General, under the direction of Special Agent in Charge Michael Mikulka; agents of the Office of Employee Benefit Security Act (EBSA), under the direction of Regional Director Darren Cohen; and agents of the Office of Labor Management Standards (OLMS), under the supervision of Regional Director Andriana Vamvakas.
The government is represented by Senior Litigation Counsel V. Grady O’Malley of the Organized Crime/Gangs Unit and Assistant U.S. Attorney Sammi Malek of the Narcotics/OCDETF unit in Newark.

Bogota NJ, Acting Prosecutor Dennis Calo announces the following information:
The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit, the Bogota Police Department, and other local agencies are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early this morning, December 12, 2018, in Bogota, NJ.
At approximately 1:43 a.m., the Bogota Police Department received a 9-1-1 call of shots fired outside Buddy’s Bar, 13 East Fort Lee Road, Bogota, NJ. Officers from the Bogota, Teaneck, and Ridgefield Park Police Departments responded to the scene, where they found a 28-year-old male on the front lawn of a nearby house, 286 Leonia Avenue, Bogota, suffering from a single gunshot wound. The victim was transported to Hackensack University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
The suspects fled the scene. The investigation is ongoing, and more information will be released at a later time.

Fort Lee Nj, A Bronx, New York, man was sentenced today to 44 months in prison for robbing a bank in Fort Lee, New Jersey, at knifepoint in January 2017, U.S. Attorney Craig Carpenito announced.
Andres Dominguez, 39, previously pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge William H. Walls to an information charging him with one count of bank robbery. Judge Walls imposed sentence today in Newark federal court. Dominguez was originally arrested on Jan. 13, 2017.
