Protect Your Ride: Police Urge Vigilance

Following the incidents, the Teaneck Police Department is issuing a strong reminder to residents and students about the importance of securing their belongings.

“Criminals will often seek targets of opportunity, such as an unlocked bicycle or scooter, when targeting items to steal,” advises the Teaneck Police Department.

The Teaneck Police Department highly recommends using a lock to secure all bicycles and scooters. Furthermore, the department offers a valuable resource for residents: a program to register bicycles and scooters for easy identification if they are lost or stolen.

Residents interested in registering their property can contact the police department’s juvenile or community policing bureaus for more details.
