Celebrate Sinterklaas Day at Historic New Bridge Landing!

River Edge Nj, looking for a festive way to kick off the holiday season? Join the Bergen County Historical Society as they host Sinterklaas Day on Sunday, December 8th, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, at Historic New Bridge Landing in River Edge, NJ.

A Day Full of History and Holiday Cheer

Experience the charm of the Campbell-Christie House, a beautifully preserved Jersey-Dutch sandstone house, which will be open for tours during the event.

Keep an eye out for Sinterklaas himself, and don’t forget to snap a photo with the iconic holiday figure!

Special Hanukkah Presentation

At 2:00 PM, BCHS Trustee Ariel Woll will present an engaging Hanukkah demonstration, sharing the traditions and history of the holiday while lighting the menorah.

Seasonal Treats & Dutch Delicacies

Warm up with delicious donuts, hot cider, and seasonal treats at the Blackhorse Inn. Then, step into the society’s authentic Jersey Dutch out-kitchen, where interpreters will be cooking up Dutch puff pancakes alongside a spread of traditional Dutch holiday goodies.

Fun for the Whole Family

The event also offers family-friendly activities, including:

  • Crafting and decorating holiday cards for local veterans.
  • Creating pinecone bird feeders and ornaments.

Tickets for the 41st Annual Colonial Christmas Concert, featuring Linda Russell and Companie, will also be available for purchase.

  • Admission: Free!
  • Parking: Free parking is available onsite. You can also take the train to the New Bridge Landing station on the Pascack Valley Line.
  • Dogs: Leashed dogs are welcome outdoors but not inside the historic houses.
