Ridgewood NJ, The BOE consulted to energy conservation company Cenergistic . A company representative presented information on its savings program, which promises financial relief to the district through a reduction in energy use.

The program relies on various energy-saving initiatives that include the implementation of best practices in the K-12 environment through behavior and equipment modifications. The goal would be to achieve a 30% cost savings over 10 years. The consultant acknowledged that the Ridgewood Public Schools has done much already to lower energy consumption and costs.

  1. The BOE could start by lowering the heat in all its buildings during the winter, which is uncomfortable and I think is maintained in the mid 70 degrees.

  2. Imagine if they put the same level of effort into improving the Math program that they put into “being green”
