Christie calls for more aggressive foreign policy
“The rest of the world watches in desperation and hope that America will realize and act upon once again its indispensable place in the world,” Christie, a prospective Republican presidential contender, said in a keynote address Sunday at the Champions of Jewish Values International awards gala in New York. “We must lead.”
He charged that America must represent the strongest military and economic power, but also “the strongest moral power for what is good and what is right in the world.”
The appearance offered Christie a second chance to impress deep-pocketed Jewish donors after stumbling in a recent speech to the Republican Jewish Coalition. Sunday’s event also featured Gov. Rick Perry of Texas, Sen. Cory Booker of New Jersey and major political donor Sheldon Adelson.
The gathering comes as donors — none bigger than Adelson — begin to size up the crowded field of potential Republican presidential candidates ahead of the 2016 contest. While billed as a nonpartisan affair, there were political references throughout the evening.
Asked if he was running for president, Perry told reporters: “I’m being governor for the next nine months. To be real honest with you I don’t know what I’m gonna do after that.”

How laughable is this talk coming from Christie, a man referencing morals and leadership that are items that have been missing from the US (both internally and externally) for close to 20 years now.
People are not crying out for American leadership – they are crying out for American money – that is all!!!! In Europe, they want American industry ($$$$) and in Africa, the Middle East, etc., they want American military hardware ($$$$). Look at Syria, Libya, Somalia, CAR, etc., they all want the US to provide military intervention but when it comes to American influence, they attack American instillation’s – Libya is a prime example where the same people that were influenced and help by the US, killed the US ambassador in 2012.
Israel is no longer a key strategic ally of the US – it is not important anymore….it only becomes important at election time because US-Jewish money is huge for candidates seeking to run for high office. Christie let the true US political viewpoint out of the bag when he referenced the “occupied territories” during a speech in Las Vegas very recently when he was speaking about a trip to the Holy Land.
The EU is more important to the US than Israel and the EU does not support Israel as it sees that its occupation of the territories seized in 1967 as a breach of international law, therefore making such occupation illegal. The US has more issues in trying to contain Vladimir Putin and for that, it needs the help of the EU, hence the lack of support for Israel and the key drive to gain wider support in the EU to curtail Putin’s regional ambitions.
So the likes of Christie and all the other guys, no matter what their political affiliation, need to stop the BS about Israel, about the strenghtening of US foreign policy and they need to focus more on the issues of what is facing the US and its future…unemployment, starving children, homelessness, US multinationals evading their tax obligations by running their financial operations through low tax countries, primarily in the EU, etc. But most importantly, is the US the country to morally influence any other nation based on its own current situation and the many debacles it is currently embroiled in? I don’t think so!!!
