Ridgewood NJ, longtime Ridgewood Coach Chuck Johnson was back of the sidelines for Ridgewood Maroon Football . After missing most of the last two seasons, Johnson, 69, was back as the head coach of the Maroons for fall practice sessions officially beginning on Monday.
Due to lingering health issues, in May of 2020 Ridgewood football coach Chuck Johnson informed the team in that he will not be coaching football in the 2020 season. His replacement will be determined by the Board of Education. Chuck Johnson had coached Ridgewood Football since 1984 .
In February , coach Chuck Johnson said he was set to return to the head coach position this fall. Ridgewood Class of 1970, has been reinstated as the head football coach for the Maroons. Johnson, retired as a teacher at Ridgewood in May of 2020 and will now just focus on football .
