Citing four years of losses by their party in Bergen County elections, three Republicans officials Wednesday called on County Chairman Bob Yudin to step down, including one – Wyckoff Mayor Kevin Rooney – who announced plans to challenge him for the job.

Yudin dismissed the critics, saying that such comments were to be expected after a defeat. He blamed the party’s losses in Tuesday’s freeholder election largely on being outspent 7-1 by the Democrats.

“It’s almost impossible for us to win county wide because of the huge sums that are coming in,” Yudin said Wednesday, citing support the Democrats got from labor unions.

  1. He is the “CEO” maybe he can be fired for poor performance.

  2. Ain’t much that can be done when good republicans get tired of the union run nj and move out.
Liberal democrats move here from NYC and vote.

  3. He’s been an embarrassment and disaster for the party. His wife lost to boot in spite of efforts to suppress Madigan’s name on the ballot in Wyckoff (who also outpolled her)…and of course the wonderful job of vetting Cappola in River Edge… someone needs to fall on their sword after this past round….

  4. I like my washing machine from his store.

  5. Has been.

  6. Nice puss…!

  7. Sadly, Mr. Yudin and his inner circle are vastly out of touch and it has cost the party the last two freeholder elections, not to mention the County Executive seat. His response could be expected, dismissing his critics is par for the course and only proves he does not seek or accept ideas or opinions from outsiders. Thank you for your service, but it is time to go.
