Englewood NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of ESMOND NIMBLETT (DOB: 07/31/1974; single; carpenter) of Clifton, NJ on charges of sexual assault, aggravated criminal sexual contact, and endangering the welfare of a child. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the Englewood Police Department under the direction of Chief Thomas Greeley.
On Sunday, July 23, 2023, the Englewood Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding the alleged sexual assault of a child between the ages of 13 and 16. An investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and Englewood Police Department revealed that ESMOND NIMBLETT sexually assaulted the child in Englewood, NJ.
On Thursday, August 3, 2023, as a result of the investigation, ESMOND NIMBLETT was arrested in Clifton, NJ and charged with two counts of second-degree sexual assault, N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2c(4); two counts of third-degree aggravated sexual contact, N.J.S.A. 2C:14-3a; and third-degree endangering the welfare of a child, N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4a. NIMBLETT was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending his first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, NJ.
Prosecutor Musella states that the charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. He would like to thank the Englewood Police Department and the Clifton Police Department for their assistance in this investigation.
