This extension underscores the ongoing commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of all residents, especially during periods of extreme cold.
A Code Blue Alert is being extended in Bergen County from tonight, February 14th through Tuesday, February 20th at noon.
According to the National Weather Service (1) the temperature will reach 32 degrees Fahrenheit or lower; or (2) a windfall temperature of zero degrees Fahrenheit or less for a period of two (2) hours or more.
If you are aware of any unsheltered homeless individuals or find yourself homeless in need of a warming center, please call the Bergen County Public Safety Operations Center at 201-753-7762 for assistance or call 2-1-1 to access a shelter.
