River Vale NJ, Assemblywoman Holly Schepisi once again fills us in on the number of uncounted and outstanding ballots in Bergen county .
There appears to be some confusion regarding the process of counting ballots in New Jersey.
1. Many of you are asking about the ballot tracking site the State has launched, and why it still shows your ballot as “received” and not “accepted”. It’s been communicated by the county boards of elections and clerks that when the counting is completed and the election is certified sometime later this month, everyone’s status will be changed to “accepted” simultaneously. If your ballot was listed as “received”, it should be counted but will not show as “accepted” until November 20th or later.
2. A very large number of ballots are still uncounted. Election officials in all 21 counties are working hard to process a historic amount of votes. Our estimate is that there are more than 500,000 ballots yet to be counted. Notably, our data shows that ballots left to be counted are more Republican than the votes that have been counted already. That reflects the fact that Democrats voted early, while Republicans largely held back until on or closer to Election Day. In fact, the percentage of Republican ballots returned surpassed Democrats the weekend before Election Day, and nearly every county started counting ballots in the order they were received. As a result, we expect a large number of local races with close tallies to trend Republican once the final votes are tallied.
3. If you voted provisionally and did not turn in a vote by mail ballot your vote should count. However these votes will not start to be counted until November 10th!
Please be patient and unless there was an unequivocal victory in your community I’d wait on cheering for a winner until more votes are counted.
Democrats will lead the U.S. to 3rd world status. We have some of the most technically advanced companies in the world, and the results of our 2020 Presidential election will rely on hand counting paper ballots. Shameful!
It is exactly what democrats wanted. They thrive in chaos. They are scoring exactly what they wanted. They are grabbing the presidency with an expected overwhelming electoral vote, I bet Joe will be over 300 when this is over. They allowed a few republicans to pick up seats in Congress since it doesn’t matter so much anymore and makes this whole mess more acceptable, their eyes are on the senate and I bet when this is all over they will be at 50-50 in the senate. Just watch. This country reached the brink much faster than I thought. Well done democrats and shame on Republicans for abandoning Trump. Never again will republicans get a chance at having a president. It is over for them and for this country.
I don’t understand how anyone can say with certainty that the uncounted votes are D or R based on who votes early. Aren’t there a lot of people undeclared or independents? AND, who is to say that even if you are a declared Republican that you voted down the line for Republicans. Another case of politicians lumping voters into categories/labeling the voters on their own preconceived ideas about how individuals will be voting.
Just count the D&*% votes!
Talk later
It’s over, DJT is getting a royal screwing but he asked for it.
I want to move off the grid. Perhaps somewhere in Maine where my biggest worry is whether or not I have enough wood for the fireplace.
I no longer get newspapers. I don’t watch television except for Channel 12 weather and NetFlix.
Trump’s the best since Reagan.
He’s the real winner and they stole it from him with the fraudulent mail in ballots.
Its obvious when they won’t allow poll watchers because they CHEAT.
We don’t need more losers like the McCains, Bushes, Romneys and Doles who cant win elections.
Trump is the man.
