Elmwood Park NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of SEQIERA M. WASHINGTON (DOB: 6/5/1979; single; human services aide) of 73B Glenwood Avenue, Elmwood Park, NJ on charges of theft, receiving stolen property, and impersonation. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love.

In September 2023, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Financial Crimes Unit initiated an investigation which revealed that SEQIERA WASHINGTON obtained an electronic benefit transfer card belonging to another individual without authorization. WASHINGTON spent approximately $2,700 in benefits by making cash withdrawals and several retail purchases.

On October 12, 2023, SEQIERA WASHINGTON was charged with third-degree theft, N.J.S.A. 2C:20-3(a); third-degree receiving stolen property, N.J.S.A. 2C:20-7(a); and third-degree impersonation, N.J.S.A. 2C:21-17(a)(4). WASHINGTON was released on her own recognizance pending her first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, NJ.

Prosecutor Musella states that the charges are merely accusations, and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. He would like to thank the Elmwood Park Police Department for its assistance in this investigation.
