Paramus Police Department Issues a Crime Alert

Paramus NJ, the Paramus Police have issues a CRIME ALERT: DISTRACTION BURGLARY ATTEMPT. Paramus residents recently reported two instances of “Distraction Burglary Attempts” . First in the area of Paramus Road and Johnson Court was almost the victim of a diversion burglary. One suspect approached the homeowner and stated he was a police officer and needed to see the residents backyard.
Meanwhile a second suspect entered the unlocked front door of the home where he was confronted by a second resident. Suspect 2 stated he was with the water company and needed to check their pipes. Both suspects are described as olive skin possibly Hispanic. The suspects fled in a white pickup truck prior to stealing anything. If you are not sure whether a person is a legitimate water company worker, utility worker or police officer call your local police to confirm.
