Hudson County NJ,  GOP State Committeeman Joshua Sotomayor-Einstein, known to be a grassroots conservative and libertarian leader in Hudson County, New Jersey’s most urban area, and an advocate for engaging in outreach and public education on Republican policy and values as well as campaigning for Republican candidates, has been the target of a recent Cancel Culture attack. All grassroots conservatives, libertarians, small government people, and Trump lovers should support Sotomayor-Einstein by donating to his campaign for Hudson County Chairman here to fight back against Cancel Culture. The attempted Cancel Culture character assassination personally targeting Sotomayor Einstein was deployed by do-nothing Hudson County Republican Chairman Jose Arango, known best for working for the county Democrat Machine.

The attacks were three fold. The first was that Sotomayor-Einstein is “gay and lives with his partner;” a false and ante-diluvian assault as there are many gay Republicans across the conservative, libertarian, and Trump loving wings of the party. The second attack was that he is anti-Semitic despite his decade’s long involvement in Jewish life (he was born and remains proudly Jewish). Last but not least, was the most recent attack that several 3 year old private texts, referencing legal events over a decade prior, he sent as a cautionary tale to a then friend, means he is a sexist.
Deploying the Left-wing Democrat tactics of Cancel Culture is nothing new for Arango. In fact, Arango has a long history of attempted character assassination on behalf of the Democrats he works for going back to at least 2008 when he accused the attorney representing the Republican State Committee of racism despite the fact that the attorney in question is Egyptian Christian (and probably knows a thing or two about real discrimination). More recently, but before his 3 pronged attack on Sotomayor-Einstein, in 2019 he endorsed Hudson County Democrat Sheriff candidate Schillari asserting that the Republican candidate Arango himself had recruited was anti-gay for questioning LGBT curriculum in public education.
Arango is likely targeting NJ GOP State Committeeman Sotomayor-Einstein because he has been the most outspoken advocate for an active county GOP, does outreach, supports Republicans, and does not work for the Democrats. Sotomayor-Einstein has publicly stood up to Arango, for example in 2019 when Arango spent official county GOP funds on two mailers supporting a Board of Education slate of candidates that was not only 100% Democrat but that included a candidate who has used social media to vilify Evangelical Christians and Republicans.
Through Sotomayor-Einstein’s dozens of op-eds (for examples – here), the Hudson County focused cable access show at which he is the resident political analyst, the numerous Republican dinners, rallies, and other events he has organized, and his many media appearances articulating the GOP perspective, Arango undoubtedly feels threatened. But rather than address his fear the way a normal person might, by doing the job he was elected to – building up the GOP; true to form as a de-facto employee of the county Democrat Machine, Arango has engaged in Cancel Culture character assassination attempts against a person who has done so much for the Republican Party.
Sotomayor-Einstein is not the only one to put in writing or online how do-nothing Hudson County Republican Chairman Jose Arango works for the Democrats. The 2018 piece on patch readable here and a 2019 piece viewable here written by Hudson County residents provides a rough outline of how Arango has repeatedly hurt the Republican Party, both on purpose and unintentionally. Recently, Ryan McDonald, of the Face Book group NJ1st, posted a video on youtube discussing how many in the New Jersey Republican know Arango works for the Democrats.
Democrat Cancel Culture should be unacceptable to all Americans, even more so to Republicans as those not towing the left-wing orthodoxy of the moment are targeted by its mobs. That a sitting, though nominal, Republican party title holder, Jose Arango, would engage in these tactics in a scorched Earth attempt to destroy Sotomayor-Einstein rather than debate his ideas is unconscionable. Sotomayor-Einstein has argued for a big tent GOP inclusive of fiscal and social conservatives, Trump-lovers (which he himself is) and never-Trumpers, libertarians, and more – but we must draw the line at those that literally work for the Democrats and those who use left-wing Cancel Culture attacks. Bravely, Sotomayor-Einstein has not backed down and continues advocating and campaigning for the GOP and for a Hudson County Republican Party that works for Republicans. We should all give him our support.
