Ho-Ho-Kus NJ, hear ye, hear ye, hear ye! You are invited, each and every one of you, to an evening with Charles Dickens at The Hermitage. Mr. Dickens conducted a reading tour during his American visit in 1868.

As it turns out on this second trip to our side of the Atlantic, he visited The Hermitage. He had heard that George Washington had slept there and he was fascinated with this historical figure. Local actor Frank Farrell will portray Dickens and recreate one of his stops during his reading tour. He will read a couple of his short Christmas stories. Coffee, tea and snacks will be served. These readings will take place in the original Hermitage building. Dickens will read one story of his choice and have the audience vote on the other. Join Charles Dickens for a cozy evening of holiday stories at The Hermitage.

Come Join us December 4th @ 5PM.

  1. I took an elective junior year. Six Dickens novels.

I spent the whole semester in bed reading 600 page epochs in small print.

That being said, The Pickwick Papers was very clever. I still have the book.
