Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood is gearing up for a one-of-a-kind event that combines live music with a heartfelt mission. On September 20, the village will host its inaugural Porchfest, a community-wide music festival where local artists perform on the front porches of homes. The best part? The event is a fundraiser for the Red Door Food Pantry, which supports neighbors in need.

A Musical Journey Through Ridgewood

The day will feature performances in two distinct locations, so you can enjoy the music all afternoon long.

East Side Performances: 1 p.m. to 2:55 p.m.

Start your afternoon on the East Side of town, where seven private homes along Brookside and Spring avenues will transform into intimate concert venues. The festivities kick off at 1 p.m. with a special performance by the Ridgewood High School Marching Band at the intersection of East Ridgewood and Brookside avenues.

You’ll then have the chance to stroll from porch to porch, catching performances by local favorites like Joe Oriente & Declan Power, the Acoustic Dudes, and the Swingcasters.

Please note: The Ridgewood Police Department advises that the immediate area will be closed to vehicular traffic during the performances, so be sure to use legal parking on surrounding side streets.

West Side Performances: 3 p.m. to 7:15 p.m.

At 3 p.m., the event moves 1.5 miles west to the south lawn of West Side Presbyterian Church at 6 South Monroe Street. This portion of the festival will feature a full lineup of bands, including the Pay Dirt Drifters, Tokyo Night, and The West Side Band.

While you enjoy the music, you can purchase refreshments from food trucks that will be on-site. Don’t forget to bring a blanket or a lawn chair for a comfortable, casual seating experience.

Music for a Mission: Supporting the Red Door Food Pantry

Beyond the incredible music, Porchfest is about making a difference. The event will be collecting grocery gift card donations to benefit the Social Service Association of Ridgewood and Vicinity, which operates the Red Door Food Pantry. Your contribution will directly help provide food and essential items to families in the community.

“Porchfest is more than a concert,” said Jeanne Johnson of worldFLATS, one of the event’s sponsors. “It’s a chance for Ridgewood to come together, celebrate local talent, and support our neighbors in need.”

Come out to enjoy a day of fantastic music, support a great cause, and celebrate the spirit of community. For more details on the event, visit West Side Presbyterian’s website at westside.org.
