Waldwick NJ, a driver of an older model Honda Odyssey lost control of her vehicle on Route 17 southbound near the East Prospect Street exit in Waldwick on Monday night, October 14th, leading to a harrowing crash. According to reports, the driver swerved to avoid another car that unexpectedly entered her lane, setting off a chain of events that resulted in a spectacular accident.
The minivan careened off the highway, jumped a curb, plowed through a bus shelter, crossed an entrance ramp, collided with and flipped over a guardrail, and even went airborne before landing on its roof in a nearby wooded area.
Incredibly, both the driver and her passenger walked away without a scratch. They were able to free themselves from the wreckage before first responders arrived.
Emergency teams, including Waldwick Police, Fire Department, and EMS, arrived swiftly on the scene, with assistance from Allendale Police. A specialized heavy-duty tow truck lifted the severely damaged minivan from the woods, and a flatbed truck removed it from the scene.
While the crash was severe, the outcome was nothing short of miraculous, as both occupants escaped unharmed, a rare occurrence in such a serious accident. Authorities continue to investigate the incident.

Great section of road to encounter people driving like jackasses at a high rate of speed.
You would think after recent events there might be increased enforcement of speed limits.
I think of that every time I pass the Christopher Goodell display.
I don’t recall speed being an issue with Goodell’s passing. The main issue was planting a police officer on the side of a high-speed state highway, looking to generate revenue by ticketing unsuspecting drivers. I think that is what I remember. I’m still shocked the family did not sue.
God’s miracle.
He could have just prevented the crash.
A great reminder to wear seatbelts.
Lost control of the vehicle again? Have you ever lost control of your vehicle?
Perhaps the vehicle became sentient temporarily, and in the confusion of its strange birth, wrestled control away from the driver. However, I imagine the crash put an end to whatever Maximum Overdrive/Skynet type event of that might have taken place, and the rise of the machines has been halted, for now.
