Waldwick NJ, a driver of an older model Honda Odyssey lost control of her vehicle on Route 17 southbound near the East Prospect Street exit in Waldwick on Monday night, October 14th, leading to a harrowing crash. According to reports, the driver swerved to avoid another car that unexpectedly entered her lane, setting off a chain of events that resulted in a spectacular accident.

Bear Family Spotted Roaming Waldwick Neighborhood, Now Out of Town

Waldwick NJ, residents in a Waldwick neighborhood got quite the surprise last Friday when a family of black bears wandered through their driveways. Video footage shared by FOXNEWS on September 13th captured two adult bears and two cubs casually strolling across front lawns and around cars.

Spot Light On First Responders: Waldwick Fire and Saddle River Fire Team Up to Extinguish a Dangerous Motor Home Fire on 17 North

Waldwick NJ, last week Waldwick Fire and Saddle River Fire teamed up to extinguish a motor home that caught fire on Route 17 northbound in Waldwick both departments were dispatched to the call. Route 17 northbound at Sheridan & south was completely shut down ,Three propane tanks were removed from the vehicle Bergen County Haz Mat also responded The highway was closed for up to an hour due to the propane tanks leaking. Saddle River Police Department and Waldwick Police Department secured  the highway , ensuring scene safety.

Driver Trapped in Route 17 Early Morning Collision in Waldwick

Waldwick NJ, Waldwick firefighters responded to Route 17 southbound near Dora Avenue, Waldwick early Thursday morning, 10/05, to extricate the driver of a silver colored Honda Fit that had been involved in a two (2) vehicle collision. The victim walked to a waiting Waldwick EMS ambulance after firefighters successfully freed her. A box truck was reported to have been the second vehicle involved in the accident. The Honda was removed from the scene by a flatbed tow truck. Waldwick Police investigated the crash.

Waldwick NJ, Two (2) individuals required ambulance transportation to local hospitals following a late Tuesday afternoon, 07/25, multi-vehicle collision at the intersection of Wyckoff Avenue and Harrison Avenue, Waldwick. Waldwick Police , Waldwick Fire Department , Waldwick EMS, and BLS & ALS units from The Valley Hospital responded to aid victims and mitigate crash debris/fluid spills. Two (2) vehicles were towed from the scene.

Pickup Crashed Through Guardrail on Route 17 South in Waldwick Occupants Transported to Valley Hospital

Waldwick NJ, Just past 2 in the morning July 5th the Waldwick, NJ Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a single vehicle motor vehicle accident on Route 17 southbound near the bus stop. A Chevy pickup left the roadway and crashed through the guardrail coming to rest on its passenger side. Two occupants needed assistance in exiting the truck. Waldwick, NJ Volunteer Fire Department crews first stabilized the vehicle before assisting them out. The patients were turned over to the Waldwick Volunteer Ambulance Corps and were transported to Valley Hospital with non life threatening injuries. Fire Department units stood by till the vehicle was removed.

Waldwick NJ, Saturday afternoon just past 4:30 the Waldwick, NJ Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a working house fire on Moore Avenue. First arriving apparatus found a heavy volume of fire extending from the front of the house and the B side.

Collision at the Intersection of Hollywood Avenue and Sheridan Avenue in Ho-Ho-Kus

Ho-Ho-Kus NJ, two (2) non-life threatening injuries were reported following a two (2) vehicle, Friday evening, 12/30, collision at the intersection of Hollywood Avenue and Sheridan Avenue, Ho-Ho-Kus. Both vehicles involved sustained heavy front end damage and were towed from the scene. Ho-Ho-Kus firefighters attended to a significant, crash related fluid spill Ho-Ho-Kus Police and Ho-Ho-Kus EMS also responded, as did a paramedic team from The Valley Hospital. Waldwick Police assisted with traffic control.

Uber Driver Hit on Route 17 in Waldwick During Safety Check of Passenger

Waldwick NJ,  an Uber driver who had pulled over on Route 17 to check on a sick passenger was hit by a passing vehicle and hospitalized with injury. Waldwick police Lt. Troy Seifert said the ride-share driver, from Yonkers, was hit about 12:35 a.m. Saturday on Route 17 South prior to the Sheridan Avenue exit in Waldwick.

Saddle River Traffic Stop Yields a Cache of Illicit Drugs, and an Automatic Handgun with High Capacity Magazine

Saddle River NJ, a late Friday morning, 09/09, motor vehicle stop by a Saddle River Police patrol officer yielded a cache of illicit drugs, along with an automatic handgun equipped with a high capacity magazine, all found hidden in a small SUV tightly packed with clothing and dozens of other personal items. Saddle River Police enlisted the aid of a Waldwick Police patrol unit, and a K-9 Unit from the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office to conduct a thorough search the older model Honda CRV with Alabama license plates that was pulled over by their officer on a side street off of Route 17 southbound in Waldwick.

Man Causes NJ Transit Commuter Train to be Rerouted in Ho-Ho-Kus

Ho-Ho-Kus NJ, an individual who was allegedly standing on an NJ Transit railroad track and refusing to move, causing at least one (1) passenger train to re-route, was taken into custody by Ho-Ho-Kus Police near the Brookside Avenue railroad crossing on Wednesday afternoon, 07/13. Waldwick Police assisted with the apprehension. Charges, other than defiant trespass, were pending the arrival of NJ Transit Police officers.

Tractor Trailer Takes Out Cabling Disrupting a Popular Waldwick Restaurant

Waldwick NJ, on Wednesday, 06/29, lunchtime business at a popular Waldwick restaurant was completely disrupted when a tractor trailer making an unlawful U-turn knocked down all power and communications cabling leading into the business. No injuries were reported in the mishap. Waldwick Police and PSE&G’s Electric Division responded to the incident.

Crash Sends Vehicle into Waldwick Home

Waldwick NJ, a two (2) vehicle crash in the 100 block of East Prospect Street, Waldwick late Tuesday morning, 06/07, sent a Nissan SUV into the front of a single family home, and resulted in occupants from each vehicle sustaining injuries that required ambulance transport to The Valley Hospital. Both damaged vehicles were removed from the scene by a flatbed tow truck. Damage to the home was very minor in nature. Waldwick Police, Waldwick EMS, and Allendale EMS personnel and vehicles responded to aid the two (2) crash victims.

Bergen County SWAT Called in to Respond to Distraught Man in Ho-Ho-Kus

Ho-Ho-Kus NJ, the Bergen County SWAT team was called late Thursday afternoon, 05/12, to assist with the safe removal of a distraught adult male from his single family Ho-Ho-Kus home, known by local police to contain multiple, legal firearms. No shots were fired and no one was injured in the incident. The individual was safely removed from the home and transported by ambulance to New Bridge Regional Medical Center for an evaluation. Ho-Ho-Kus Police was assisted at the scene by Saddle River Police, Waldwick Police, the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office, and the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office.
