At approximately 5:00 PM on Monday, April 20, 2026, emergency responders rushed to the busy intersection of Main Street and Old Hook Road following reports of a high-impact crash.

The Incident: From Intersection to Interior

The collision involved a Subaru Solterra, which, following the initial impact, careened off the roadway and traveled completely into the first floor of a nearby office building.

Fortunately, the building—located near the intersection—was vacant at the time of the crash. While the exterior and interior of the structure sustained moderate damage, no one inside the building was harmed.

  • Medical Status: Officials report the driver sustained a non-life-threatening shoulder injury.

  • Extrication: A heavy-duty flatbed tow truck was required to carefully extricate the Solterra from deep within the building’s first floor before hauling the totaled vehicle away.

Traffic and Safety Reminders

The intersection of Main Street and Old Hook Road is one of the most heavily trafficked areas in Emerson. Local authorities briefly redirected traffic while the vehicle was removed and the building was boarded up.

The cause of the initial collision remains under investigation by the Emerson Police Department.
