In the early hours of this morning, at approximately 3:30 AM, first platoon firefighters from the City of Hackensack were dispatched to Route 80 in response to a serious motor vehicle crash. The incident involved a passenger vehicle that had rear-ended a truck, resulting in the vehicle operator being pinned inside.
Swift Response and Rescue Operation
Upon arrival, firefighters found the driver of the passenger vehicle trapped due to the collision. The rescue operation began immediately, with firefighters stabilizing both vehicles using cribbing and airbags. Hydraulic tools were employed to remove the roof and door of the passenger vehicle to access the pinned driver.
Collaborative Effort with EMS
Working alongside EMS members, the firefighters successfully stabilized and extricated the driver. The patient, in serious condition, was then carefully packaged, treated on-site, and transported to Hackensack University Medical Center for further care.
