Monville NJ, an emergency sinkhole repair in Montville has led to the closure of several lanes on I-287 and Route 202, according to a traffic advisory issued by the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJ DOT).
Starting at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, the left lane and shoulder of both northbound and southbound I-287, as well as the right lane on Route 202 southbound, will be closed. NJ DOT officials have stated that the closures are necessary to install a construction barrier while workers repair an emergency drainage pipe located in the median of I-287.
The left lane on I-287 is expected to reopen later tonight. Despite the ongoing work, Exit 47 for Route 202/Montville/Lincoln Park in both directions of I-287 will remain accessible.
Meanwhile, on Route 202 southbound under I-287, one lane will stay open as crews assess the condition of the drainage pipe and determine the necessary repairs. Motorists are advised to expect delays and to exercise caution while driving through the area.
