Ridgewood NJ, Enforcement of metered parking in the Central Business District will resume on June 15th. Time limit restrictions in residential zones remain suspended.
Gotta make payments on the parking garage bond!
ill just go to post office in glen rock, hohokus or Waldwick. And ill patronize those merchants. why bother taking the chance of getting a fine.
I have lived here since 1969 and the pay to park is stupid. It drives business to the malls, shortchanging our local stores.
Do the math.. cost of meters, cost of enforcement (salaries, vehicles, pensions medical benefits), theft of hundreds of thousands of dollars in coins…
its a NO brainer. remove the meters
I stopped going to town a long time ago for this reason. Now it is much more of a pain if just picking up a take out order. They expect you to go to a kiosk and i am sure over pay
Will they stop all this valet parking for restaurants now that they have a parking garage? This took up a lot of spaces. Ow need to lay until 8 PM. Parking prices doubled in the last 5 years.
Sign City, USA.
Look around our ‘quaint village’ someone is making a living off sign production.
Hey Village Council, tear down those meters and paid parking. Use the reparation payments from Tommy Boy Rica and the money received for the steel scrap to pay for their removal and disposal!
The CBD’s decline is a microcosm of our failed Village Council… dirty sidewalks, poorly maintained streets and parking lots, cracks everywhere, but lots of ordinances, signs and spending on those signs so that the police can “enforce” the laws and ordinances they’ve passed. This CBD is made in the image of our poor Village governance !
RIDGEWOOD was great in the 1980s. What happened?
I assiduously avoid the CBD….
The roads are filthy. I’ve been here since 1962. What the hell is going on. I’ve been a resident on Henrietta for a long time ,that road is a disgrace. If you don’t believe me take a look at the carb line.
I’m done with the CBD unleass ABSOLUTELY necessary.
I will patronize other resturants, banks, post offices, etc in neighboring towns.
All the people that won’t pay a dollar (or usually less) to park their car in town. Really? You can’t be serious that you don’t go to downtown ridgewood because you have to pay to park the car. Get the app and you’ll be fine. This is a silly comment thread
The app is convenient. but a rip off. I was out of change so what would have been less than a 25c to run in the store cost me 65c. its the principle. why do I need to pay these loafers pensions benefits and salary to force customers to the malls
F the app.
You people are mindless.
I don’t need any third party (or th village for that matter) to track my movements and parking habits in Ridgewood.
“F the app…” that is such an ignorant comment. Do you really think someone cares to track your parking habits, what the hell does it matter? That’s like saying I’m not using a gps because they know where I am. All these excuses for not visiting our central business district are the exact reason it’s going in such a bad direction.
they sell the data , the app is used all over not just Ridgewood
Just the Hundreds of small metal
Signs on every forner meter pole
is proof we are now a confirmed nanny state.
Look at how awful they look
Early morning lined up Like a target
Practice range.
Suggest one blue line on drivers side
Indicating by ordinance pay the meter or epark kiosk no receipt on dashboard needed
Pull out the meter poles once and for All.
Put in some small trees or decorative
Trellises on barren stretches of the former run of barren meter poles/ mini nanny signs to pay at meter kiosks not rocket science …less overhead for pole& sign departments
Pole farms
