Heavy Smoke and Flames: The Initial Scene on Madison Ave

The Hasbrouck Heights Fire Department was dispatched to the 200 block of Madison Avenue following urgent reports of a fire burning inside a residential home.

The first arriving Fire Chief immediately observed heavy smoke pouring from the structure and transmitted a working fire assignment. Upon further investigation, crews discovered a severe, fast-spreading fire trapped within the home’s outside wall. The flames had already traveled internally from the first floor all the way up to the attic, threatening to break out and engulf the entire interior.

Rapid Engine Crews Contain the Threat

Faced with a fire that was rapidly climbing the height of the house, the first-due engine company mounted an aggressive, targeted attack on the exterior wall. Their quick positioning and decisive actions successfully stopped the fire from breaching the home’s main living spaces.

Ultimately, the bulk of the fire damage was successfully contained to the original outside wall where it started.
