Ridgewood without the Daily Treat.

The image was something that regular lunchgoer Dave Nicholson, who was reminded this year of the diner’s 50th anniversary, didn’t even want to think about.

“Can you imagine town without the Daily Treat? Holy cow,” he said while finishing his lunch in a corner, back booth. “The place is special, you know. It’s comfortable.”

Nicholson said he has come to the diner for at least 25 years. In fact, he and friends – one he met at the Daily Treat – once had lunch in the establishment almost every day for more than a year.

  1. Go for another 50. Good luck.

  2. John and Gus are extremely responsive owners. One or both of them are routinely on-site; service is excellent and food quality is outstanding.

The Daily Treat is the best place to eat in Ridgewood.

  3. The Treat is super in every way. Great food, great prices, and everyone is so nice. I love it there. We all do.

  4. The best place in town. We miss Trudy though.

  5. Another good thing about the Treat is that Paul doesn’t like the place, so you never have to worry about bumping into him there. God bless!

  6. Good God yes, it is great that the mayor does not go there. It would be a shame to get sick to your stomach upon seeing him.
