Glen Rock NJ, a 41-year-old woman has been charged with stealing over $6,000 from Francesca Pizza & Pasta, a beloved Glen Rock pizzeria, according to local authorities.

Employee Accused of Theft & Check Fraud

Police say Natisha R. Awad, of Cliffside Park, stole cash from the restaurant’s safe and forged checks linked to the business, which she later cashed.

Awad is now facing multiple charges, including:

  • Third-degree theft
  • Two counts of forgery (check fraud)
  • Two counts of theft by deception

She was arrested by Detective Sgt. James Calaski and Detective Lucas Doney, processed at Glen Rock Police Headquarters, and later released on her own recognizance. Awad is scheduled to appear before Superior Court in Hackensack on February 21.

Francesca’s Owner Speaks Out

Sal Reina, owner of Francesca Pizza & Pasta, addressed the situation in a statement last month, expressing gratitude for the community’s support.

“We recently experienced an unfortunate incident involving theft from our safe by a former team member. We want to assure you that we are okay, and our team has been handling this with the utmost attention.”

Reina reassured customers that Francesca’s remains committed to its strong work ethic and welcoming environment, built over the past 17 years.

A Stronger Community Moving Forward

Despite this unfortunate setback, Francesca Pizza & Pasta remains a pillar of the Glen Rock community. Residents continue to show loyalty and support, reinforcing the pizzeria’s reputation as a local favorite.

  2. The police department and the owner should get together and have this nitwit clean the bathrooms and the floor every night for a month

  3. It was pretty clear from the get-go that this had to be an inside job.

  4. From her Linked In ….

I am a lover of all things Domino’s. From a driver, to CSR, to assistant manager to general manager. The vibe and feel from the teamwork at a well run Domino’s Pizza is unmatched. I love every aspect of it.
