Frank Pallotta to Run for Mayor of Mahwah in Recall Election

unnamed1

My name is Frank Pallotta and I have been a Mahwah resident for nearly 30 years. My wife Patty, a life-long Mahwah resident, and I have been married for 27 years and have two adult sons. We built our home, raised our family and made many friends here over the years who have become part of our extended Mahwah family. Mahwah is our town and it is the only town we have ever called home.
It is time for Mahwah to be represented by someone with one agenda and one vision, singularly focused on improving our town and the lives of all its residents.

After much discussion with family, friends and various groups throughout this great town, I have made the decision to seek the office of Mayor of Mahwah. I look not only to restore trust and confidence to the mayor’s office, but to help move our town forward again.

I have spent my career as an investment banking executive, working for – and alongside – some of the largest financial institutions in the world. In that time, I have learned one irrefutable fact – the long- term viability and success of a company, a family, or even a town in Bergen County, New Jersey, rests in the hands of its leaders. Leadership however, is much more than a title. Leadership is about how one’s actions and principles influence others for the better.

The events of the past few years have driven me to a place where I – like many residents – have finally decided to say “enough is enough”. An unprecedented second recall effort in as many terms, has left our town with little choice but to push back against reckless and ineffective leadership. A mayor has one job above all – to serve the people of their town. The concept is simple: be honest with the voters, be transparent with your Council members, and most importantly, never waiver from your mission to serve.

In recent years, our town has been mischaracterized by people who don’t know who we are, nor do they recognize the compassion and kindness that exists in the heart and soul of this town. And when this mayor – our mayor – had the opportunity to be a leader during a difficult time, he chose silence. Instead of standing behind the people he was elected to serve, our Mayor chose to turn his back on all of us. His decision to put himself and his own personal and political interests ahead of the people of Mahwah, has already cost him our trust and our confidence. Those actions should now cost him his job.

My goal is simple, I seek only to serve the people of Mahwah for as long as they will allow me that privilege. I vow to lead a tireless effort to help restore this town’s reputation as one of the warmest, most accepting and inclusive places to live in the State of New Jersey, while seeking to reestablish the people’s faith in the office of Mayor. The people of Mahwah deserve nothing less than that. In the coming weeks, I look forward to knocking on doors, meeting with the voters and engaging in the kind of productive and thoughtful dialogue that we have always known in this town.
Thank you for your time and your support in November.
