The case began unfolding on Sunday, June 21, 2026, when the New Jersey Division of Child Protection & Permanency (DCP&P) contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit. The agency reported an alleged physical assault involving three juveniles at a residential property in Fairview, NJ.

Detectives from the Prosecutor’s Office, under the direction of Chief Jeff Angermeyer, collaborated with the Fairview Police Department, directed by Chief Vincent Bellucci. Their subsequent investigation revealed that on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, Paul J. Gomez physically assaulted and endangered three minors, causing severe bodily injury to one of the victims.


The Arrest and Statutory Criminal Charges

Following the multi-agency probe, law enforcement officers apprehended Gomez on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, in Paramus, New Jersey.
