GLEN ROCK, NJ — A late-afternoon electrical fire broke out in the attached garage of a Glen Rock home on Monmouth Road Monday, August 18, leaving the residence temporarily uninhabitable, officials confirmed.
The blaze began shortly before evening and drew a large emergency response. Firefighters from the Glen Rock Volunteer Fire Department arrived on scene quickly and were assisted by crews from several neighboring towns.
According to authorities, no injuries were reported during the incident. However, the fire caused enough damage to displace the family while repairs and inspections are conducted.
Multi-Agency Emergency Response
Along with local firefighters, the Glen Rock Police Department and Glen Rock EMS also responded to the call. Firefighters worked together to safely contain the blaze to the garage area, preventing further damage to the rest of the home.
Home Declared Temporarily Uninhabitable
Though the flames were quickly knocked down, the electrical fire caused significant damage to the garage and smoke throughout the home. Officials deemed the property temporarily uninhabitable until safety assessments and necessary repairs are made.
