GLEN ROCK, NJ — A potentially dangerous situation was quickly brought under control on Friday afternoon, February 13, 2026, thanks to the swift response of local emergency services.
The Glen Rock Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to Monmouth Road late Friday following reports of a fire at a single-family home currently under construction. Upon arrival, crews discovered a roll-off trash container located in the home’s driveway engulfed in flames.

GLEN ROCK, NJ — A quiet Monday afternoon near Hamilton Elementary School turned chaotic when a sedan flipped onto its roof, trapping the driver inside.
At approximately 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 22, 2025, emergency crews from Glen Rock and Hawthorne rushed to the 400 block of Harristown Road following reports of a violent single-vehicle rollover.
On September 6, 2025, a fast-moving but powerful thunderstorm tore through Glen Rock, New Jersey, leaving two single-family homes on Roxbury Place damaged by large falling tree limbs. While no injuries were reported, the incident sparked a swift response from the Glen Rock Police Department, Glen Rock Volunteer Fire Department, PSE&G Electric Division, and the Borough of Glen Rock’s shade tree unit. The victim, unresponsive upon being carried out of the smoke-filled residence, was given CPR at the scene before being rushed to The Valley Hospital by ambulance.
Glen Rock NJ, A 24-year-old Glen Rock volunteer firefighter sustained a non-life-threatening head injury on Saturday night, December 21, during a festive “Santa Detail” event. The incident occurred near Doremus Avenue, close to the Glen Rock Municipal Pool, when the firefighter’s head was struck by a low-hanging tree branch while riding on top of a fire truck.
Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood firefighters quickly knocked down an early Monday afternoon, 12/11, structure fire that reportedly originated in the kitchen of a single family home on Liberty Street, Ridgewood. No injuries were reported in the blaze; however, there was an unconfirmed report of a missing dog. Ridgewood Police, and Ridgewood Emergency Services personnel also responded to the incident along with mutual aid fire and EMS units from several nearby communities.
Glen Rock NJ,an early Monday afternoon, 11/20, fire, ignited when a Glen Rock homeowner was working with tools in a second floor bedroom, was extinguished prior to the arrival of firefighters from Ridgewood, Glen Rock, and Hawthorne. The homeowner sustained minor burns to his hand and self-transported to The Valley Hospital for treatment. Fire chiefs from Fair Lawn also responded to the incident.
Glen Rock NJ, gathered “early arrival” students were safely evacuated from the Alexander Hamilton School, located at 380 Harristown Road in Glen Rock, after a ceiling fire was reported at approximately 0830 hours on Wednesday morning, 10/18. The fire was quickly extinguished and no injuries to students, staff members, or first responders were reported. The cause of the small fire was being investigated. Glen Rock Fire Department was assisted at the scene by mutual aid fire departments from several nearby communities.
Glen Rock NJ, on Monday morning, 10/02, chemical spill inside of the Glen Rock Middle School and High School forced school administrators to dismiss all students at 12 noon, and to order the cancellation of all programs scheduled to take place at the facility on Monday afternoon and evening. Emergency responders at the scene were tight lipped as to what spilled, but school officials did say the incident happened in an office area. An individual was said to have been transported by ambulance to The Valley Hospital, but no confirmation of this report was available on scene. Vehicles from multiple public safety agencies were seen parked in front of the school building for hours.
Glen Rock NJ, a smokey Thursday afternoon, 04/06, fire consumed a Toyota Prius on Rock Road near Isabella Place in Glen Rock. The fire, which reportedly originated in the vehicle’s trunk, was extinguished by Glen Rock firefighters with overhaul assistance provided by Fair Lawn Fire Company #4. Glen Rock Police provided traffic control. The damaged vehicle was towed from the scene.

Glen Rock NJ, at approximately 545 pm Wednesday, the height of rush hour the Glen Rock Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a smoke condition on a NJ Transit train at the Borough Hall Train Station. Firefighters assisted in extinguishing a small fire in the wheel housing of one of the train cars. Also on scene was Glen Rock Police , NJ Transit Police and NJ Transit rail operations.
