Glen Rock Nj, in a bold burglary last week, intruders broke into a Glen Rock home, stealing car keys and making off with two BMWs, police reported. The incident occurred on Fairmount Avenue, and Glen Rock police responded to the scene early last Thursday at 7:14 a.m..
According to the police, while the residents were asleep, the intruders entered the home through an unlocked rear window. Once inside, they stole key fobs for the homeowners’ vehicles, as well as a wallet containing five credit cards. They then proceeded to steal a 2022 BMW and a 2023 BMW from the driveway.
Fortunately, one of the vehicles—a 2023 BMW—was recovered later that day. At approximately 2 p.m., the Trenton Police Department located the stolen car. The license plates had been swapped, and the vehicle had suffered extensive damage, police said.
Ongoing Investigations and Recent Recoveries
In addition to the stolen BMWs, Glen Rock police detectives are investigating two other vehicle thefts that occurred in recent weeks.
- On Oct. 7, a 2021 Range Rover, stolen from a driveway on Heathcote Road on Sept. 30, was found by the Belleville Police Department. The vehicle was parked on a street and sustained some damage.
- On Oct. 9, a 2015 VW Passat, stolen from a Norwood Avenue home on Oct. 3, was recovered by the New York City Police Department’s 46th Precinct in the Bronx. Police have made three arrests related to this theft, and investigations are ongoing in both Glen Rock and the Bronx.
The Glen Rock Police Department remains vigilant in handling these incidents, responding to 529 calls for service between Oct. 7 and 13.
As car thefts rise, residents are urged to remain cautious by locking doors and windows and keeping key fobs secure to help prevent similar incidents.

I have the best locks the best alarm and a few dogs and guns, and I could defend myself. I’m a pretty tough guy. I know how to fight, the problem is these punks have no respect anymore for anyone or anything, and the law is ridiculous due to your property your family and looking through you in jail it’s such bullshit.
