Hackensack NJ, the Hackensack Fire Department had a busy week, tackling a range of emergencies and showcasing their dedication to protecting the community. Here’s a recap of some of their notable responses:
Quick Action Prevents Home Fire Spread
Second Platoon firefighters swiftly responded to a fire on the exterior of a home on Dewolf Place. Thanks to their rapid action, they extinguished the flames before the fire could spread to the interior of the residence, minimizing damage and ensuring the safety of the occupants.
Lithium-Ion Battery Fire in High-Rise Contained
Third Platoon members were dispatched to a high-rise on Prospect Avenue after reports of a burning odor. Upon investigation, they found a lithium-ion battery ablaze inside a trash compactor. The team quickly extinguished the fire and safely removed the battery to the exterior. Bergen County Hazmat was called in to assist with proper disposal of the hazardous material.
