Hackensack NJ, the Hackensack Police Department announces the arrest of Xiomor Highsmith from Teaneck, NJ on several criminal charges as a result of a robbery investigation On June 22, 2023, Officers responded to the area of Sussex Street and Newman Street on a report of a male being chased by others with machetes. Xiomor Highsmith was located walking away from the area with several parties who are identified as juveniles.
Further investigation by Officers on scene revealed that Highsmith had chased the victim while demanding to hand over his cell phone and money while brandishing a knife. Highsmith was placed under arrest and a search of his person revealed a foldable knife along with 5 counterfeit $100 dollar bills Highsmith was criminally charged with Robbery / 2C:15-1A(2) (first degree), Weapons possession charges / 2C:39-5d, 2C:39-4d (third, fourth degree), and Fraud / 2C:21-2. These charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. He was processed and transported to the Bergen County Jail on a warrant, pending a first appearance at Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack.
