Ridgewood NJ, the US Supreme Court ruled Thursday to block affirmative action in two closely watched lawsuits against Harvard and the University of North Carolina (UNC). The cases, initially brought by a coalition of students, prospective applicants and their parents in 2014, challenged the universities’ use of racial preferences during the admissions process.

“Harvard’s and UNC admissions programs violate the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment,” the Supreme Court ruled in a 6-3 decision in the UNC case and a 6-2 decision in the Harvard case, which Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson recused herself from.

Chief Justice John Roberts wrote the majority opinion, joined by Justices Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito, Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh and Amy Coney Barrett.

Roberts wrote, “A benefit to a student who overcame racial discrimination, for example, must be tied to that student’s courage and determination,” Roberts wrote. “In otherwords, the student must be treated based on his or her experiences as an individual—not on the basis of race.”

“Many universities have for too long done just the opposite,” he continued. “And in doing so, they have concluded, wrongly, that the touchstone of an individual’s identity is not challenges bested, skills built, or lessons learned but the color of their skin. Our constitutional history does not tolerate that choice.”

  1. Its about time. Lets talk about competence instead of color. You either meet the standards or you don’t.

  2. Totally agree.

  3. Its rich how all the liberal white politicians are outraged yet their kids found their way into the most prestigious colleges.

    1. Biggest mouth piece is Liz Warren who lied on her application ie…America Indian to get into college.

      1. Yeah.
I remember when a strike team of heavily armed FBI raided her house at 2AM to get documents and charge her with these crimes…

  4. About time…the charade has ended.

My sis in law had a B+ average at Ramsey HS, 1300 SAT score, was the lead in the school play and yet could not get into Rutgers.

So she went elsewhere. Later she got her Masters at Harvard.

Think about that…she could not get into Rutgers. Why do you think that was ?

    1. Maybe because a B+ and a 1300 SAT aren’t all that great. It sure ain’t because the kids from Paterson took her spot.

It’s a competitive world there kiddo.

      1. Yeah, not to mention that an average student from the state pays significantly less tuition than an average student from out-of-state.

    2. Big Ten School…not the same Rutgers from years ago

  5. This is a travesty.

We all know that Blacks cannot compete solely on merit.

Whites need to provide a kindness and lower the standards and employ quotas so that Blacks can be admitted to colleges and then be given academic assistance, modified classwork and social promotion by grading on a modified scale so they can graduate.

Then of course, employers need to hire Blacks via the quota system and give them modified workloads so they can receive the same money as Whites.

It is the kind, fair and Equitable thing to do since Blacks are unable to compete on a fair playing field and succeed.

    This ruling is totally RACIST.
