Hackensack NJ, a police lieutenant is suing the city of Hackensack Police Department, its director and department supervisors, alleging retaliation and hostility after he protested the hiring of Raymond Guidetti as the new police director in August.
Lt. Anthony DiPersia, an officer with the Hackensack Police Department since 2005 who serves as president of Hackensack’s police supervisor union, claims that his complaints about Guidetti overstepping his civilian role in violation of state law were ignored.
The concerns DiPersia raised were ignored and not investigated and instead made him a target of intimidation and harassment, he claims in the whistleblower lawsuit filed last week in state Superior Court in Hackensack.
Nick Bond, a spokesman for the City of Hackensack, said the city’s lawyers are reviewing the lawsuit.
