Responding to a citizen’s Facebook post regarding Ridgewood Water’s recent request to stop the use of lawn irrigation devices, Ridgewood Water’s Senior Engineer Jill Fasano wrote this about the “enormous amounts of water put on lawns:”
“This also now draws from more wells which likely have higher levels of PFAS.”
There was no response from Ms. Fasano when another citizen asked for an explanation of her statement.

The Village should provide clean drinking water to residents. This is a health crisis!
Our Mayor really doesn’t care. Millions of tax money going to his Central Business District (where he owns several businesses and property) or turf fields. That money should go to fixing our water problems and supplying water bottles and filtration systems to residents.
Neighboring towns got their water clean in record breaking time with less money. Ridgewood is rotting from the head down.
What did the Village do with the multi millions they got from suing the PFAS makers and grants?
I learned a lot from some of the replies my post garnered, but I have to note that we have been using bottled water delivery for years (I highly recommend Diamond Rock!) because our tap water tastes so terrible. If it was palatable, we would use more water but would also be paying higher amounts to Ridgewood Water. If lower consumption is their goal, they have no motivation to improve the drinking quality.
Likely now that Jill Fasano has been muzzled.
Oh boy. A big screw up.
Wow. Love that threat. ‘Better shut off ya sprinklas or ya gonna get more of the bad juicy juice.’
SELL THE WATER UTILITY. What is to think about?
