Ho-Ho-Kus NJ, at July 23rd council meeting, Ho-Ho-Kus Police Officer Zachmann and  Ho-Ho-Kus Police Officer Cronin, along with members of the Ho-Ho-Kus Volunteer Ambulance Corps, were presented with the prestigious CPR Save Award.

The award recognizes their heroic actions on Friday, June 14, 2024, when Officers Zachmann and Cronin responded to an urgent call about a possible heart attack in progress. Upon arriving at the scene, they quickly assessed the situation and determined that immediate action was necessary. Employing CPR and an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), they administered three shocks to the patient, successfully restoring a faint pulse.

Shortly afterward, the Ho-Ho-Kus Volunteer Ambulance Corps and a Valley Hospital Advanced Life Support (ALS) unit arrived to take over. The patient was then transported to the hospital, where they were ultimately stabilized in the emergency room.

This well-earned recognition celebrates the quick thinking, teamwork, and lifesaving efforts of Officer Zachmann, Officer Cronin, and the dedicated members of the Ho-Ho-Kus Volunteer Ambulance Corps. Their actions exemplify the highest standards of public service and community care.
