Homicide Reported in Paramus

Paramus NJ, a 61-year-old man was discovered deceased at a residence on Bruce Drive in the borough on Friday, authorities confirmed.

Paramus Police and the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office are conducting a joint investigation following a report of a homicide received by Paramus Police late Friday afternoon, on February 16th. The deceased individual, a 61-year-old man, was found inside a single-family home in the 600 block of Bruce Drive, Paramus, shortly before 6:00 PM.

Personnel from the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office Bureau of Criminal Identification were observed at the scene collecting visual and physical evidence. Unconfirmed reports suggest that Paramus Police apprehended an individual of interest at the crime scene. Further details are currently unavailable.

The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office has categorized the incident as a homicide after Paramus Police responded to the residence at approximately 5:40 p.m. and discovered the deceased man.

The victim’s identity has not been disclosed by the prosecutor’s office, and there has been no mention of charges being filed in connection with the homicide.

The investigation is a collaborative effort between the prosecutor’s office and the Paramus Police Department.

On Friday evening, law enforcement personnel were seen conducting inquiries in the vicinity of Bruce Drive. A portion of the street was cordoned off with yellow tape, and several police vehicles, including a major crimes unit truck, were present at the scene. Additionally, two police cars were stationed to block access to Bruce Drive.
