West Milford NJ, The West Milford Police department received several calls at approximately 2100 hours, of a house explosion in Upper Greenwood Lake. Police, Fire, and EMS responded to Banker Road for a confirmed house explosion. 5 victims were medic vac to area hospitals. An additional victim refused further medical attention.
On Friday at approximately 9pm West Milford Police dispatch received multiple 911 calls reporting an explosion in the Banker Road area of Upper Greenwood lake . West Milford Police responding to Banker Road confirmed the house was heavily damaged by an explosion .
West Milford Fire Department, First Aid Squad and Atlantic Als responded. Additional resources were requested including the Urban Area Search Initiative Task Force . Five victims were transported via medivac . One to Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center . Two victims were flown to Morristown Medical Center . The two remaining victims ; one was transported to St Joseph Medical Center and one to Hackensack University Medical Center and one refused medical attention at the scene .
The incident is currently under investigation by the West Milford Police Detective Bureau, Township Fire Marshal, and State Fire Marshal Office.
