Atlantic City NJ, “The Save Right Whales Coalition appreciates the hundreds of New Jerseyans who came together yesterday in Atlantic City for Hands Across the Sky, an initiative opposing rushed and irresponsible Offshore Wind development along the Jersey Shore, and in its concern over the impact that such development will have on our marine life including the critically endangered North Atlantic Right Whale.

In the last 37 weeks, since the start of sonar blasting of the ocean floor to support the building of these systems began, 61 dead whales have washed ashore in the states that have Offshore Wind turbines underdevelopment, two this week alone.

Gov. Murphy and his administration are rushing a process that will have long-term effects on our state, on our businesses and on marine mammal life in the area. We urge the governor to put the brakes on this process and study the impact these developments are already having on other areas before ruining the Jersey Shore with the Atlantic Shores, Ocean 1 and Ocean 2 developments that he is needlessly rushing,” said Save Right Whales New Jersey Spokesperson David Shanker.

  1. Thank you for reporting accurately and truthfully!!. We need more people like you that are true journalists to report the facts and help save NJ from this nightmare on the horizon. Sincerely. MaryBeth Feeney

  2. Thanks for reporting what’s going on with the whales. Please join us in our fight to save the whales and porpoises and our shore for future generations.

  3. Thank you so much for recognizing this huge effort and for the support.

  4. What is “sonar blasting?” Are you referring to sub-bottom profiling which as NEVER killed a marine mammal.

And let us not forge the fact that less than a dozen actual wind turbines are in operation.

While ignoring the fact that necroscopies of the dead whales indicated blunt force trauma deaths. Further examination of their echolocation organs and tissues have revealed no anomalies.

Don’t confuse the issue with actual facts.
